The 2010 Pacific Rim International Print Exhibition brings together contemporary printed artworks by artists from the nations and cultures of the Pacific Rim and Basin. Now in its 17th year, the artists selected in 2010 are from New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Columbia, Japan, Mexico, Russia, South Korea and the United States of America.
This prestigious exhibition features 36 artworks from mono prints through to those employing digital technologies, revealing the wide range of conceptual engagements and print processes employed by contemporary print media artists.
New Zealand printmaker Denise Copland has selected the 36 exhibited works assisted by Associate Professor Cathryn Shine. Copland notes that the exhibition ‘provides an opportunity for further dialogue and discussion regarding current perspectives concerning the interaction between artists, the print media’s technological advances past and present and the cross-disciplinary nature of art practice.’
Associate Professor Cathryn Shine from the School of Fine Arts, University of Canterbury, is the director of the exhibition.
